2016 has definitely been a year of music festivals/concerts for me. I attended Wireless Music Festival in London where I saw big acts such as J Cole and Future. I experienced the amazing Beyoncé performing live at Wembley Park Stadium and I played mas with Colours UK at Nottinghill Carnival. Such great times! Most recently, I attended the Livin in the Sun Music Festival in Anguilla.
I’ve been back home in Anguilla for about six weeks now and my year of music continues. This time last week I was “marooned” on beautiful Sandy Island with the Bae thoroughly enjoying ourselves at the Livin in the Sun (LITS) Music Festival.
Thanks to Jerome Dupont Photography for this awesome shot!
A combination of music, food, drinks, art, sea and sun, LITS is a welcome addition to Anguilla’s Festival scene bringing DJs from across the region and world to our tiny paradise for a weekend of fun, fete and fantasy. Spend the day livin it up in the sun at Sandy Island, dancing and enjoying delicious Caribbean food such as cray fish and barbecue chicken and ribs. If it gets too hot, no worries, you can cool off with a refreshing dip in the ocean which is just a few feet away no matter where you are on Sandy Island. A change of clothes and the party continues each night at a different Anguillian beach bar. LITS Festival is definitely a weekend to remember…or not, depending on your level of alcohol indulgence haha. For me, my alcoholic beverage of choice for LITS was Disaronno and coke/ting. My go-to mixed drink :). Check out My Anguilla Experience

Of all the festivals I’ve attended, beach festivals like Livin in the Sun are my favourite. For day time events I love wearing a stand out swimsuit paired with denim shorts or a cute button down/Kaftan. For the Sandy Island event, I opted for this high leg leopard print swim suit from New Look and these super shredded high waisted denim shorts from Missguided. I knew I wasn’t planning on going in the water so I added two layers of gold accessories for a bit of 70’s beach glam. Sunnies are an absolute necessity for the day time. I opted for these purple round aviators which I felt complimented the entire look. For the night time, rompers or cute flowy dresses are ideal for me for a night of fun and dancing.
Let me know in the comments what your favourite beach festival looks are and if you will be attending LITS festival next year. I know I definitely will!
Until next time :).
Stay chic, S.
