Every year around Easter, I look forward with much excitement to two major festivals. The first being the ever popular Coachella, the one stop destination for music, fashion and art lovers held in the Colorado Desert. Although I have yet to actually attend the festival (one year I will!), I am constantly glued to Instagram during that period checking out the fearless and fun festival style. The second festival is right here in my island Anguilla. Festival Del Mar ( Festival of the Sea) is an annual seafood festival held in the fishing village of Island Harbour. Generally I like to think that fashion is my first love but if I am truly honest, food probably is. I love to eat and I love food festivals!
Given that I missed out on Festival Del Mar being away at University last year, I made sure to make up for it this year. Between my boyfriend and I, we devoured fried johnny cakes, baked johnny cakes, sea cat (octopus), calamari, shell fish, conch, conch fritters, fish balls, white backs and wahoo (types of local fish) over the course of the two day festival. Let’s just say that my waist line is grateful that this festival only comes once a year! The food was amazing as usual and there are usually several different vendors for you to choose from based on your preferences and budget. Live music and performances by local and international artists set the atmosphere for a weekend of food, fun and fete!

STYLE TIP: ‘Tinted sunglasses and statement tees are super trendy for Spring/Summer 2017. Rock yours boldly!’
As always, Festival Del Mar was amazing and I am already looking forward to next year’s festivities.
