Clothes Aren’t Going To Change The World. The Women Who Wear Them Will.

Full Disclaimer: I am a Feminist.

Wear what you like, own it and do amazing things! Personally, I love wearing black and leather. Black makes me feel chic and leather makes me feel cool and tough :).  I want to encourage women to embrace style but not to be defined by it. Rather use it as a tool of empowerment to aid in your own personal and professional development.

I consider myself a feminist because I am passionate about the achievement of equal rights for women and the general empowerment of women.  The Business of Chic is more than a life and style blog, it is a vehicle for female empowerment by inspiring, motivating and supporting women to achieve success and happiness by their own definitions and look good doing it!

Today marks the anniversary of International Women’s Day. A day that celebrates women’s achievements while calling for gender equality. Several campaigns are held worldwide to commemorate the day and this year I participated in the #Inmywords campaign led by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.  I shared a short 30 second video on what female empowerment means to me with a focus on leadership. For those of you who are interested, the video can be found here.

There are no limits to what we can achieve as women. Remember that.  Together we can change the world, one chic outfit at a time!

Until next time 🙂

Stay Chic, S.
