We are almost to the end of 2017 and what a year it has been! This year was filled with many ups and downs, challenges and triumphs, laughs and tears. I for one am quite excited to go into the new year. I’m ready for a fresh start and new adventures and I must say 2018 is looking very promising! However, before the new year starts it is tradition to celebrate the end of the old year. To end my ‘5 Days of CHICmas‘, I’m sharing the Glam without the Glitz, for a super chic, non-sparkly New Years Eve outfit idea.
This NYE, there’s sure to be a lot of glitter, sparkle, shine and glitz! My style tends towards simple and classic so I opted to go a different route and play with varying prints and textures instead. I rarely wear dresses, usually choosing a trouser/fitted top combo as my “go to” for fancy nights out. This year, I’m switching it up, even for me!
The mini skirt has been quite trendy for the Fall/Winter Fashion Season and I have been waiting for an occasion to wear this cute leopard print, embroidered mini from Pretty Little Thing. Leopard print has always been a favorite of mines, and given that it is also trending huge this Christmas is just a bonus!
I paired my leopard print mini with a sheer top from Forever 21 that I’ve had in my closet for ages and worn several times already. Often we feel the need to purchase brand new outfits for NYE, but you really don’t have to. I actually haven’t bought specific outfits for NYE in years. If you’re like me and saving for the new year, try rocking an old clothing item in a fresh way. I like to wear my sheer top with different bodysuits or bras under it, to make the look unique each time. For this outfit, I wore a black sheer, embroidered bodysuit from Forever 21, with a criss cross detail at the top.
I topped the outfit off with simple olive green sandal heels, a gold clutch, gold earrings and of course, a red lip! I rocked my usual twist out and just let me hair do it’s thing, as always!
This outfit is a winner in my books and while I still have no idea yet how I will be celebrating NYE, I hope this serves as some inspiration for those looking for something simple and chic without all the usual glitter and sparkle.
