Christmas is a time for spreading joy and cheer and sharing love and laughter. This is usually expressed through spending time together during the holidays, lots and lots of food and of course, the exchange of gifts! I quite enjoy Christmas time and finding cute gifts that I believe my loved ones will appreciate. However, this year, with much of the focus being on restoration and a return to a semblance of normalcy following Hurricane Irma in September, Christmas definitely snuck up on me.
With less than a week to go, I am only now considering Christmas presents. Given my limited time and an already stretched bank account, I came up with four simple and FREE Christmas Gift Ideas that I wanted to share with you guys. Your friends and family will truly appreciate these gifts from the heart and your bank account will be super grateful as well! Happy CHICmas! Check out CHICmas Day 1 here.
1.) The ‘Cinderella’ Voucher
We all have chores that we absolutely hate doing. For me, it’s washing dishes and cleaning the bathroom. Consider the chores that your family and friends hate and create a ‘Cinderella’ voucher for them offering to do specific chores for a set period of time, whether it be a day, week or month! This one is sure to be a winner in any household!
2.) Play to your Skills
Another great free Christmas gift idea is to utilize your skill set and natural talents. Are you a makeup artist, try vouchers for a free makeover. A singer? I’m sure your friends and family would love a mixtape of you covering all their favourite songs. Whatever your skill set may be, you can come up with creative ideas to offer your services (for free!) to friends and family. This is a fun gift idea that your loved ones are sure to enjoy!
3.) Write it Down
Whether it’s a love letter to your partner, a recollection of funny memories with your best friends or an uplifting or motivational note to someone who is going through a hard time, we would be amazed at how powerful words can be. This is probably the most thoughtful and invaluable gift on the list and the one your friends and family will treasure the most. Often times we get so caught up in our own lives that we forget to take the time to tell/remind the persons in lives how much they mean to us. This Christmas, take the time and share love and cheer through your words.
4.) A “Best Memories” Slideshow
“A picture is worth a thousand words and video is worth a million!”
Remember all those pictures, videos, saved snaps and insta stories undoubtedly stored on your phone or in the cloud? What better time than now to break them out and create the best Christmas present ever! Who doesn’t love a visual trip down memory lane to get the laughter flowing and the tears rolling! Can you say “Awwww”
All you need is a free slideshow app and your secret stash of cute and funny memories with your friends and family. You can choose to span it over the last year or lifetime. It’s up to you! Just have fun with it 🙂
